Associate Professors Deborah Harker and Michael Harker of the University of the Sunshine Coast prepared a report, ‘Advertising’s Role in Diet and Exercise in New Zealand and Australia: Developing a research agenda.’ FOE thought it lightweight and in some respects misleading. We commissioned two reviews - one from Professor Janet Hoek and the other by Associate Professor Robert Scragg. They scrutinised it from both advertising and obesity research perspectives, and were not impressed.
